Gautam Gambhir Hailed Virat Kohli For His Fitness: The Indian cricket team kickstarted their campaign in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 with a bang as they defeated Australia by 6 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai. Some brilliant performances were put on display by KL Rahul and Virat Kohli for India, who led the way for their team and outclassed the visitors.
Though, India started their innings in an awful manner by losing Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer, all for ducks, and were reeling at 2/3 but Virat Kohli and KL Rahul joined hands and scripted an amazing comeback to help the side seal victory.

Meanwhile, later after the match, former Indian cricketer and World Cup hero Gautam Gambhir showered praise on KLR and Virat. Gambhir commended the ability of both batters to soak in pressure in a high-octane clash. He said:
“Virat Kohli and KL Rahul handled the pressure excellently in the middle,”
Gambhir further said that youngsters should get inspired by Virat Kohli. He said: “The youngsters should learn from Virat Kohli about fitness, running between the wickets, reducing the dot ball & putting pressure back on bowlers”.
He added:
“Virat Kohli plays low-risk cricket. His dot ball percentage is very low, he keeps rotating the strike. Youngsters need to learn from him,”
Talking about the knocks, Virat Kohli once again proved why he is hailed so highly. He played a crucial knock of 85 runs, bringing stability and experience to the chase. He was joined by KL Rahul in the middle and together they stitched a remarkable partnership of 165 runs, which was the backbone of India’s successful run-chase. Playing a stellar knock, KL remained unbeaten at 97 runs, just three runs short of a well-deserved century.
