The much-hyped, much-awaited, marquee IND vs PAK clash of the World Cup 2023 group stage is just two nights away. The epic encounter will be played at the gigantic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.

After Shubman Gill, another Indian legend has been diagnosed with dengue.

Team India is already fretting over the (un)availability of star opener Shubman Gill. Although Gill has landed in Ahmedabad, after being discharged from the hospital in Chennai where he was being treated for dengue, his fitness remains under a cloud.

Fans believe the team management might not want to rush Shubman Gill for the IND vs PAK encounter, and instead, he could make his comeback against Bangladesh on October 19 in Pune.

Not to worry too much as it is not an Indian cricket team member. But it is veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle who has tested positive for dengue recently.

Harsha Bhogle confirmed that he will miss the IND vs PAK match in Ahmedabad

Taking to Twitter, Bhogle announced he will be missing the IND vs PAK clash in Ahmedabad due to dengue, the disease is on the upsurge in India this month. Bhogle revealed that because of this he missed out on the second half of the India vs Australia match in Chennai last Sunday.

Bhogle tweeted: “I am disappointed at having to miss out on #IndiavsPak on the 14th. But I have dengue and the resultant weakness, and lowered immunity, will make it impossible. I am hoping to be back in time for the game on the 19th. My colleagues, and the broadcast crew, have been very helpful (and took on the extra workload during the second half of #IndiaVsAus ) and I look forward to saying thank you to them in person.”

Meanwhile, India thumped down Afghanistan by 6 wickets in Delhi, chasing down the target of 273 runs in only 35 overs courtesy of a sensational, record-breaking ton by Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma pounded the Afghanistan bowlers mercilessly to blast 131 runs in 84 balls, with the help of 16 fours and 5 sixes, making a mockery of the target.
