Whether it was last month in Sri Lanka during the Asia Cup, or today in the World Cup 2023 encounter against India, Iftikhar Ahmed’s mouth remaining open in shock and stun has led to several hilarious memes.
The context is that Iftikhar Ahmed was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav. It wasn’t a good delivery at all; in fact, it was a terrible delivery down the leg-side that Iftikhar, or any batsman with the ability to hold the bat, would have hit for a boundary 8 out of 10 times.
But, well, for Iftikhar Ahmed it was the time when he not only he failed to connect with his sweep to a ball that was a distance away from the leg-side, but indeed he under-gloved it back onto his stumps and was bowled! Leg-stump uprooted.
