However, fans are disappointed with the broadcasters and authorities for not making the match more special by making a special promo or a video dedicated to the cricketer. A popular cricket analyst on Twitter Gurkirat Singh Gill highlighted the same in his Tweet. He wrote:

I have no doubt in my mind that Australia or England would have made Kohli’s 100th test a festive and celebratory affair. Fox or Sky would have made a special promo at the very least.”

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a green signal to the Punjab Cricket Association to allow fans in Virat Kohli’s 100th Test match with a 50 percent capacity at PCA Stadium. After a lot of backlash from the fans, the BCCI has asked the PCA to make arrangements to allow fans up to 50% of the capacity of the PCA Stadium for Kohli’s milestone Test match.

The news was made official by, RP Singla, treasurer, who said: “We got the communication from BCCI about the allowing of fans at 50% capacity for the first Test match between India and Sri Lanka at Mohali starting March 4. So far, we will allow online sale of tickets from Wednesday onwards as it becomes crowded at the ticket counters at the stadium. Fans will be there to watch Virat Kohli play his 100th Test match and PCA will ensure that all Covid-19 protocols are followed,”

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side will play the first Test match of the series at Mohali from March 4 to March 8 before moving to Bengaluru for the second Test match.
