West Indies legend Chris Gayle has seemingly retired from international cricketer after he was dismissed by Pat Cummins during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2021 fixture against Australia.

Though nothing has been confirmed so far, Chris Gayle dropped a big hint of quitting international cricket as he raised his bat towards the fans, which clearly hinted at his retirement. He was also seen distributing cricketing gears to fans in the stands.

Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss, was looking in some fine touch and was seen batting at over a strike rate of 150 before he edged a delivery back onto the stumps. However, he was soon dismissed after scoring 15 off 9 balls.

While there is still suspense over Gyale’s retirement, fans on social media were left in awe after the Universe Boss dropped all the hints for the fans. In no time, social media was flooded with amazing reactions from the fans to it.

Among many, Tim Wigmore, who is a sports journalist for The Daily Telegraph and ESPN, also joined the bandwagon and penned down an amazing tweet for the West Indies legend. In his Tweet, Tim highlighted the impact Gayle made in the shortest format of the game, while calling him a ‘phenomenon’. He wrote:

“Very few players have had more impact on T20 than Chris Gayle, the Bradman of T20.
Has scored 22 centuries; the next best is 8.
Has hit 1043 sixes; the next best is 760.
A phenomenon”
