Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir recently shot back at a journalist who took a sarcastic jibe regarding match-fixing at the cricketer regarding the ongoing Pakistan-Australia Test match in Rawalpindi.
The Rawalpindi pitch has been under the scrutiny of everyone as it has offered nothing to bowlers but little turn and has been absolutely flat and slow even on Day 4. With both the teams stacked up with world-class fast bowlers, the game so far has failed to live up to the entertainment and fight fans had been expecting.
Pakistan piled up 476/4 in 162 overs courtesy of big hundreds from Imam-ul-Haq and Azhar Ali. In reply, Australia too made the Pakistani bowlers toil hard. All of Australia’s top four – Usman Khawaja (37), David Warner (68), Marnus Labuschagne (90), and Steve Smith (61*) – have scored fifties as even Shaheen Afridi, one of the best new-ball bowlers, looked rather toothless for much of the time.
Looking at the plight of the bowlers of both teams on this Rawalpindi surface, Mohammad Amir, who retired from international cricket in December 2020, joked that the bowlers should just go home and let the batters compete within themselves.
“is pitch pe to bowlers ko ghar chale jana chaye batman’s ek doosre k sath khail lein,” Amir tweeted.

Commenting on this, one Twitter user, Islamabad-based journalist Mughees Ali, tried to troll Mohammad Amir, bringing up his match-fixing history.
Mohammad Amir Took on a journalist who tried to troll him

“Yeah Match Fix to nai ? Apka Experience Kia Kahthaa ha ?,” Mughees Ali commented.
Furious by this, Mohammad Amir replied back in a funny way. Amir insulted the user back, saying that Mughees is ‘mutmin beghairat’ (surely shameless)!
“Me soch rha tha tme answer na dn but ub tm ne fans k liye bad word use kiya hai to suno tm ne sawaal kiya tha k apka experience kia kehta hai mera experience kehta hai bara hi mutmin beghairat hai tu,” Mohammad Amir replied.

Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy final hero, Mohammad Amir retired from international cricket saying that he had been “mentally tortured” by the team management. The cricketer who was banned for five years for spot-fixing in 2010 represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 61 ODIs and 50 T20Is taking a total of 259 wickets.
