A Pakistani Fan Warned Marnus Labuschagne About Shaheen Afridi And Got A Hilarious Reply

Australia batsman Marnus Labuschagne is excited to tour Pakistan to contest in a high-intensity Test series. Pakistan will host Pat Cummins’ team for a 3-Test series in March followed by 3 ODIs and one T20I.

A battle to look forward will be that between Marnus Labuschagne, the number 1 ICC men’s Test batter, and Pakistan’s spearhead pacer Shaheen Afridi, who has been in thunderous form over the last year.

Shaheen Afridi was the recipient of the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy as he was named the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year for 2021, becoming the first Pakistani cricket to bag this particular trophy. He picked up 78 wickets in 36 games across all international formats, with best figures of 6 for 51 which he took in the second Test against West Indies in Kingston.

He was the key contributor in Pakistan’s first victory against India in the T20 World Cup, picking up 3 for 31 dismissing Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli.

Marnus Labuschagne, on the other hand, had a fantastic home Ashes series against England. He started off the series with two fifties and a hundred, and ended as the second-highest scorer in the series.

Marnus Labuschagne replies back to a fan:

Recently on Twitter, a Pakistani fan cautioned the Aussie batter to get ready to face the fearsome Pakistani fast bowler, Shaheen Afridi.

Labuschagne simply replied “Can’t wait” hinting at his eagerness and exuding plenty of confidence at facing Pakistan’s ace fast bowler.

Australia will come all guns blazing having thrashed England by a 4-0 scoreline. Apart from having the top-ranked batter – Marnus Labuschagne – in the side, the team will be captained by Pat Cummins, the number 1 ICC Test bowler. Travis Head also had a breakthrough Ashes series where he ended up as the leading run-scorer despite missing one game.

Usman Khawaja made twin hundreds in his comeback Test in Sydney while David Warner registered a couple of nineties. All the bowlers had fun during the series, knocking over England batters in quick succession. The concern, for now, remains the dip in Steve Smith’s form who averaged 30 in the series without a century.
