A Powerful Playing XI Of Cricketers Who Retired In 2020: 2020 would go down as one of the most difficult years for cricket fans around the world. While all the sporting activities had come to a halt, on the other hand, many legends of this game including the greatest MS Dhoni decided to hang their boots.

Openers: Shane Watson and Wasim Jaffer:




For the opening position in this playing XI, Shane Watson and Wasim Jaffer will be perfect. Shane Watson announced his retirement after the conclusion of IPL 2020. The Australian legend was struggling with his form for a long time. Though he shines on a couple of events, however, the consistency was missing.

Wasim Jaffer has always been like a run-machine on the top order. The domestic legend also chose to retire from the game in 2020. Soon after he took up the role of the head coach of the Kings XI Punjab and was very decent with his job.

Middle-Order: Ian Bell, Suresh Raina, and Marlon Samuels:

For the third position, we have Ian Bell, who also retired in the previous year. Though Ian was inactive from the international scene for his team, he was doing great in the domestic circuit. However, he decided to hang his boots in 2020.

Marlon Samuels, who is regarded as one of the most controversial cricketers of the West Indies, will be perfect for the number four position.

Marlon was infamous for his off-field attitude and for his controversies, but on-field he had a decent career.

Captain and Wicket-keeper: MS Dhoni:

MS Dhoni, who is regarded as one of the greatest wicket-keeper and skippers, retired from the game on August 15th, last year. He will keep wickets and be the captain of this special XI.

All-Rounders: Irfan Pathan:

For the all-around performance, we have Indian legend Irfan Pathan. Though he played in LPL and CPL, however, his journey with the Indian cricket team was over after he took retirement from cricket in 2020. Irfan is currently in a good space, he is a top commentator and is experienced in coaching as well. Besides this, the all-rounder is making his acting debut in 2021 as well.

Bowlers: Mohammad Amir, Sachitra Senanayake, Graham Onions, and Pragyan Ojha:

The bowling attack is being led by Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir, whose retirement came as a shocker. Sachithra Senana and Indian left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha will be the two spinners in this playing XI. English pacer Graham Onions will be the third pacer in this playing XI.

12th Man: Parthiv Patel:

Parthiv Patel will be the 12th man for this squad. The cricketer announced retirement after not playing a single match in IPL 2020. However, soon after he retired from the game, he announced that he will be joining Mumbai Indians as the Head of Talent.
