A Sri Lankan Journalist Tried To Insult Virat Kohli And Got Back From The Indian Fans

Indian captain Virat Kohli has found himself in the spotlight because of his disappointing performances lately. His poor form continued in the ongoing tour of England as well, with his latest failure in the first innings of the 3rd Test match at Headingley at Leeds.

So far, the Indian skipper hasn’t scored a fifty in the 1st two Test matches of the ongoing 5-match Test series and has resulted in questions being raised over his ability to score big for his side. While fans were waiting exceptionally for the clash between James Anderson and Virat Kohli, however, this time it was Anderson who got better of the Indian skipper.

Having bowled a couple of outswingers, James Anderson went for one full outside the off-stump and managed to lure the Indian skipper into a false shot. Virat played a very loose-looking shot and was eventually dismissed by Anderson.

Meanwhile, a journalist has found himself at the receiving end of criticism for posting an insulting tweet against Virat Kohli. Daniel Alexander, who is a journalist from Sri Lanka, is known for insulting the Indian cricketers in order to appease his followers from Sri Lanka and Pakistan. On Friday, he was at it again as he trolled the Indian skipper by comparing him with Pakistan’s batsman Babar Azam.

He took to his Twitter and took a dig at the Indian cricket team after they got bundled up for only 78 runs. In his Tweet, he also reminded everyone of India’s other lowest scoring total against Australia, where they all were dismissed for 36 runs. He wrote:

“Watched day 1 highlights while having English breakfast, cost me only 78 Indian rupees. (There is also an Australian steak dinner offer for just 36 Indian rupees). #Cricket #ENGv78”

In another Tweet, Daniel Alexander took another dig at the Indian skipper for getting dismissed cheaply during India’s first innings of the 3rd Test match. Trolling the Indian skipper, Daniel wrote that Virat scored 7 runs to pay his tribute to Pakistan’s cricketer Babar Azam, who climbed at No.7 in the Test rankings. He wrote:

Kohli got out for 7 as a tribute to Asia’s best all format batsman Babar Azam climbing to No.7 in Test rankings (ODI 1, T20I 2, Test 7). Also Kohli went without scoring a century in 50 consecutive Int’l inns as tribute to Babar scoring 50-plus Int’l scores consistently. #Cricket”

The Tweet didn’t go down well with the fans, who are now trolling him left, right, and center for insulting Kohli yet again.
