KL Rahul had a disastrous overseas tour in 2019 and to make matters worse for him, BCCI suspended him for his comments on the talk show named Koffee with Karan. One year after the ban and now, Rahul stands as one of the most valuable players of the Indian team. He can play at any position, can keep the wickets and can also lead the team in the regular skipper’s absence.
Talking about Rahul’s heroics in ongoing New Zealand, he was the highest run-getter for India in their 5-0 victory during the T20I series while he also has scored a lot of runs for the Men in Blue in the ODI series. Although India failed to win the 50-overs series, Rahul’s performances will always be remembered by the fans.
He added an ODI century to his name in New Zealand and shattered multiple records during the final ODI. His hundred made him a member of an elite club of wicket-keepers who have scored a century in New Zealand. He registered his first century at the number five position today and he got fine support from the duo of Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey.
Talking about Rahul’s innings in detail, he came out to bat when the team’s score was 62-3. He rescued the team first by playing slow for a while. When the innings entered the 30th over, he switched gears and soon completed his 4th ODI ton. He ultimately lost his wicket for 112 runs for the right-handed batsman ensured that India post a total of 296 runs on the board. Everyone is in love with the way KL Rahul has been batting and Star Sports’ cricket expert, Aakash Chopra came up with a special tweet to laud his efforts.
Here’s what Chopra had to say about Rahul’s magnificent performance. Just like others, he is praising the team’s ‘real 3D all-rounder’.
Will you open?
