Aakash Chopra Shares Report Cards Of Indian Cricketers: Kane Williamson-led New Zealand cricket team defeated the Indian team by 8 wickets to win the first-ever World Test Championship on Wednesday. Despite giving some incredible performances in the last 6-7 months, the Indian cricket team was outperformed by New Zealand at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.

While the batsmen performed poorly in the WTC Final, on the other hand, the bowlers too couldn’t give the best of their abilities and as a result, India was defeated by 8 wickets.

Recently, on his YouTube Channel, former Indian cricketer, and renowned commentator Aakash Chopra shared his thoughts about the performance of Indian cricketers by rating the Indian squad who featured in the WTC final.

Chopra started rating the Indian squad from the openers, while he gave Rohit Sharma  6/10, stating that he looked good and got starts in both the innings despite the challenging condition, however, he gave only 4/10 to Rohit’s opening partner Shuman Gill as he feels the youngster wasn’t looking up to the mark. He said:

“I will give Rohit 6/10. He got starts in both innings. I will say the glass is half full because Rohit saw off the new ball in both innings, the most difficult thing in SENA countries. Shubman Gill helped Rohit Sharma in the first innings but got out early in the second innings. Just 4/10,”

Chopra further expressed that he was more disappointed with the performance of Cheteshwar Pujara as he had expected a better show from the senior batsman. He said:

“His batting in both innings, you expect more runs from Cheteshwar. In this game, I am going 2/10,”

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli and his deputy Ajinkya Rahane were given 5/10 as he feels that both the cricketers impressed in their first innings however he feels that they should have done well in the second innings.

While he gave Ravichandran Ashwin 6/10, Chopra was very impressed with the pacers — Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma, who got 7 and 6 from the former cricketer. Last but not least, Jasprit Bumrah, who went wicket-less in WTC got 3/10.
