Australia’s top-order batsman Aaron Finch is a very strong man and one of the hardest hitters of the ball in world cricket.
In the ongoing Natwest T20 Blast, Aaron Finch played one of the most memorable T20 knocks of his career for Surrey against Sussex. Finch scored 114 runs off just 64 balls and powered his side to a big total of 193 for 2 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Finch formed a good partnership with England’s too-order batsman Jason Roy and made Sussex bowlers look ordinary on the day, with his power hitting. In his marathon knock, Finch smashed 7 towering sixes and entertained the big crowd at Lord’s.
However, the highlight of his innings was David Wiese’s over in which he smashed 30 runs. Finch displayed a wide variety of strokes and took a special liking to Wiese, who is a very effective T20 bowler otherwise.
The over started with a couple but then Finch flexed his big muscles and smashed 4 consecutive sixes. The first one went over mid-wicket, the next two over long and the fourth one went sailing over off. However, Finch would consider himself unlucky to miss out on the last ball as it ‘only’ went for a four.
Finch is more than capable of hitting huge sixes and scoring big runs in limited overs cricket. Over the years, we have seen him play aggressive brand of cricket and take-on some of the best bowling attacks in the world. His biggest criticism has been lack of criticism but he has been working hard on his game and fitness and we hope he flourishes in Australian colours, too. Watch the video here:
