AB de Villiers Is Back To Entertain His Fans

After IPL, PSL, and BBL, the SA20 league is assumed to be the next big thing in Franchise Circuit. The tournament is all set to kickstart on 10th January where we can expect some exciting contests. The interesting fact about the league is that all 6 teams are owned by the IPL franchises. 

Ahead of the tournament, fans of former South Africa captain AB de Villiers have received a piece of good news. AB de Villiers is looking forward to his commentary debut during the inaugural SA20 starting on January 10.

Yes, you read that right. De Villiers is all set to return but this time in a different avatar. He is a part of a stellar team of commentators and presenters who will call the exciting action of South Africa’s anticipated new league. Known as ‘Mr 360’ during his playing days, de Villiers will bring all the flain and innovation to the commentary booth. Confirming the same in an official statement, De Villiers said:

“I am a cricket fan at heart and I can’t wait to be behind the mic to watch the brilliant performances from the world’s best cricketers during the SA20. I am looking forward to joining some of my past teammates and cricketing legends for this exciting opportunity,”

Notably, the SA20 commentary team has reunited some legendary players like de Villiers, Mark Boucher, Ashwell Prince, Shaun Pollock, Herschelle Gibbs, Chris Morris, and Vernon Philander. 

Besides them, former England players Kevin Pietersen and Darren Gough will also join the commentary team. Kevin Pietersen is also looking forward to returning home for the inaugural competition. KP said:

“I’m excited to be part of the SuperSport team for the SA20 league. Especially as Someone who was born in KZN and also someone who has played cricket in Durban in my early part of my career. I’m very proud to be part of the inaugural SA20 league and love the country. I am really looking forward to contributing towards this event with a special team.”

Meanwhile, the upcoming edition of the SA20 will be in a direct clash with UAE’s ILT20, which is also scheduled to begin from January next year. Both leagues will be taking place in the same time when Australia’s  Big Bash League (BBL) will be on.
