Abdul Razzaq, the former Pakistan all-rounder, believes that if he had been active in cricket till now he would not have any problem in facing India’s sensational bowler Jasprit Bowler, who is currently World’s no.1 bowler in ODI.
Jasprit Bumrah, who is regarded as one of the greatest pacers of this era, has become the backbone of Indian bowling attack and that too in a short span of time.
Ever since he made his debut in Test in Cape Town in January 2018. He has improved by bounds and leaps. Many cricket legends have praised the mesmerizing bowling skills of Jasprit Bumrah. Even the opponents can’t stop praising the Indian pacer.
However, Abdul Razzaq called him a “baby bowler” in comparison with yesteryear bowlers like Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, and Shoaib Akhtar. Talking about the same in an interview with Cricket Pakistan, he said:
“I have played against great bowlers like Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him,”
He added:
“After having faced world-class bowlers in my time, I would have had no problem against a bowler like Bumrah. The pressure would have been on him.”
Former Pakistan’s all-rounder also said Jasprit Bumrah is a good bowler among a current lot of players. He further said that Bumrah’s unique bowling action is the only reason for his success. He said:
“Bumrah is doing very well and has improved a lot. He has an awkward action and hits the seam perfectly which is why he is effective.”
