Abhimanyu Mithun Picked 5 Wickets In An Over Including A Hat-Trick And Twitterati Can’t Keep Calm

Former India pacer Abhimanyu Mithun continues to shine in the domestic cricket playing for Karnataka. He becomes the first Indian cricketer to take a hat-trick in all three of India’s top-tier domestic level tournaments, that includes – Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the Ranji Trophy.

On Friday, Abhimanyu Mithun took 5 wickets in an over, playing for his team Karnataka in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy semifinal against Haryana. Abhimanyu delivered a sequence that will be remembered for a long time. He finished the spell with figures of 5/39 and with a sequence of : Wicket, Wicket, Wicket, Wicket, Wide, One Run, Wicket.

This was the second time when something like this happened in T20 cricket. Earlier Bangladesh bowler Al Amin Hossain left everyone mesmerized with his spell as he took a five-wicket haul in a domestic T20 match in the year 2013.

However, in India, Abhimanyu Mithun became the first-ever cricketer to take a hat-trick in all three of India’s top-tier domestic level tournaments. Mithun who is 30-year-old has played 4 Tests and 5 ODIs for India between the years 2010 and 2011. His last hattrick came in the Vijaya Hazare Trophy final for Karnataka this year itself.

Soon after he took his hattrick, Abhimanyu Mithun started trending on social media, with netizens flooding twitter with appreciation posts and messages. BCCI also took to their official handle and uploaded a video of the mesmerizing spell by Abhimanyu Mithun.
