Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed took the cricketing world by surprise as he bamboozled England batters with his mystery spin in his debut match for Pakistan. Abrar Ahmed stole all the limelight with his sensational bowling and he ended up wtaking taking 7/114 on debut on Day 1 of the second Test against England at Multan Cricket Stadium. Yes, Abrar picked 7 wickets in his debut match for Pakistan. With his magical debut, Abrar became the first Pakistan cricketer to claim a five-wicket haul in the first session of his Test debut.
He dismissed Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Ollie Pope, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes and Will Jacks. While Abrar was sensational throughout the day but the googlies he bowled to Ben Strokes and Zak Crawley were staggering. Among his seven dismissals, what caught everyone’s attention was how the 24-year-old bowler was able to leave Ben Stokes in total disbelief.
Abrar kickstarted his magical debut with the first-over wicket of England opener Zak Crawley. Crawley, who scored a stunning century in the first Test, was left bamboozled by the googly. Abrar then went on to pick four back-to-back wickets that of Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brook before Lunch to complete a historic five-wicket haul.
Ben Stokes (30) and Will Jacks (31) added 61 runs however Abrar returned with another beauty of a delivery to leave Stokes shell-shocked. He bowled a stunning delivery after which the ball pitched around leg stump and spun past Ben Stokes’ bat to disturb the stumps behind. The expression of Ben Stokes was a proof of how great that delivery was. Stokes could not believe the amount of turn the ball had to evade his bat.
