Adam Gilchrist, one of the iconic wicket-keeping batsmen who hasn’t shown much interest in IPL for quite a few years now, came up with a tweet which would spark quite a lot of debates as the tournament rages on.
India’s Covid crisis has scaled the skies as multiple health systems have been failing. The numbers are skyrocketing by leaps and bounds and there is absolutely no response whatsoever to this minatory pandemic.
However, if there has been one thing that has brought some kind of entertainment for the fans in the grave situation, it has been the ongoing domestic cricketing extravaganza called Indian Premier League.
In a deluge of negativity that has taken over the social media where news of ailments and deaths have been trending, IPL has been like a fresh air of hope for the Indians.
Stars have tried to contribute as much as they could to the benefit of mankind but this pandemic has taken an overwhelming apparition that has imposed itself in the deadliest way possible.
Adam Glichrist tweeted, “Best wishes to all in India ?? Frightening Covid numbers. #IPL continues. Inappropriate? Or important distraction each night? Whatever your thoughts, prayers are with you. ?”

Probably, this tweet would spark a lot of discourses for its controversial nature but it is actually a truth that seems simply irrefutable.
It feels good to see that even the world’s best share such a heart-warming connection with India that makes them tweet for the nation even when their own has been safe.
Things have consistently gone downhill and IPL has still managed to bloom a few smiles on the glaring face of this ever-evolving crisis. Let’s all just hope and pray that this wave of death and destruction can soon be over and humanity prevails over everyone.
