Adil Rashid, England’s spinner made headlines after England’s historic win in the world cup finale against New Zealand at Lords. However, he wasn’t in limelight because of his performance but for his words that he said to the skipper of their team during the match.

After winning the thrilling encounter against New Zealand, skipper Eoin Morgan, during the post-match conference, revealed that Adil Rashid told him that Allah was with them. And there’s no denying to the fact that the God was with England during the finale, as all the decisions went to their account, leading to a controversial victory.

On Friday, Adil Rashid, whose ancestors are from Pakistan, spoke highly about his skipper Eoin Morgan. The leg-break spinner said that Eoin saying Allah is with them was a big thing for him. He said:

“For Eoin Morgan to say we had Allah with us was a big thing for him as a person. He has gained so much respect from Muslims around the world and, from my behalf, it was just to tell him that God was with us, don’t worry”
