It’s always been a great sight to see Ricky Ponting in the dug out of the Mumbai Indians. His presence as the batting coach of the Mumbai Indians has been a great support to the defending champions over years.
But now Ricky Ponting will not continue as the batting coach of the Mumbai Indians and this might come as a big shock to the fans of the Mumbai Indians.
New Season New Team
The former Aussie Skipper will be seem donning new colours in IPL 2018. Delhi Daredevils has signed Ricky Ponting as their batting coach. Delhi Daredevils had to lose out on Rahul Dravid after the conflict of interest issue cropped up. Rahul Dravid generously chose to be the coach for India Under 19 and India A teams.
Ricky Ponting who retired from international cricket in 2012 started his career in the IPL playing for the Mumbai Indians and was subsequently made the captain. But he resigned later and Rohit Sharma took over and Mumbai Indians decided to retain him as their batting coach of mentor.
But now he will be seen extending his services to a different team and given his expertise and knowledge of the game we are given to understand that Delhi Daredevils would see a big boost in his advent to the camp.
Ricky Ponting has had a an illustrious career and he’s a legend who has amassed more than 13000 runs in both, ODIs and Tests. Delhi Daredevils has swung a great asset their way and now it’s upto them as to how much they seek to be benefitted from his presence.
