Ajay Jadeja Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is the most valued player in the Indian cricket team, known for his exceptional skills as a fast-bowling all-rounder. While he brings a unique balance to the side, he has also faced challenges with injuries. He has faced significant challenges due to injuries in his cricket career. After a prolonged battle with a back injury since 2018, his Test cricket future became uncertain.

Upon his return, he limited his bowling contributions in white-ball cricket, impacting India’s performance in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Despite resuming his all-rounder role after rehabilitation, Pandya suffered an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup, exposing India’s vulnerability, which Australia took advantage of in the final.

Hardik Pandya’s stint at the Cricket World Cup was unfortunately cut short because of an ankle injury sustained while attempting to stop a ball in a match against Bangladesh. This injury led to his absence from the remaining matches, and he hasn’t been included in any of India’s squads for the upcoming Tour of South Africa.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricket team star Ajay Jadeja shared a humorous perspective on Pandya’s tendency to face injuries.

“You get a fast-bowling all-rounder very rarely,” the anchor told Ajay Jadeja in a YouTube Live on Sports Tak.

“You didn’t get the meaning. He is a very ‘rare’ talent, he is rarely seen on the ground. Hai toh rare waise. (He is indeed rare.)”

Before the IPL 2024 retention list was released, there was much speculation about Hardik Pandya’s possible return to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans. Although initially listed as part of GT’s retained players, sources later revealed that Pandya had been traded to Mumbai Indians after the deadline had passed.

A day later, the IPL officially confirmed the transfer. Pandya, who began his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2015 and won four titles with them, recently rejoined the team after an all-cash deal trade-off with Gujarat Titans. He had captained Gujarat Titans for two years, leading them to a title win in 2022 and finishing as runners-up in IPL 2023.
