Former Indian Test vice-captain, Ajinkya Rahane has been going through a rough patch in his career. His lean form has become a cause for concern for the Indian cricket team as the senior batter has averaged less than 20 over the last 2 years.

The middle-order batter has been struggling to score runs. He has managed only 819 runs in 19 Tests at an average of 24.08, with his only century coming during this period came in the Boxing Day Test against Australia in 2020. In the 2 Tests he played in 2022, Ajinkya Rahane managed to score just 68 runs as team India suffered a humiliating defeat against South Africa.
