Controversies and Ambati Rayudu go hand-in-hand. Recently, he created a stir in the cricket world with his cryptic tweet and his statements after he took a break for a few weeks from playing first-class cricket for Hyderabad.

On Sunday, Ambati Rayudu took to his twitter and appealed to Telangana’s Minister for Industry and Municipal Administration, KT Rama Rao to look into the matters of corruption prevailing in HCA (Hyderabad Cricket Association). He wrote:

“Hello sir @KTRTRS, I request u to plz look into nd address the rampant corruption prevailing in hca. Hw can hyderabad be great when it’s cricket team is influenced by money nd corrupt ppl who hav numerous acb cases against them which are being swept under the carpet.”

In an interview, Ambati Rayudu also said that he had informed Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president Mohammad Azharuddin about the issues, but nothing was done for it. He had said:

“I did have a talk with the president. He always said he was trying his best. But it never happened. I feel he should have initiated stronger measures but he did not do that. I feel there were more election promises and as a result, the game suffered.”

He added:

“It hurt me a lot. A few players, who did not deserve to be in the team, were included in the team because of the election promises. If this happens, how can a team improve? My hands were tight (sic) for the playing eleven when it came to few players and they were untouchable during the T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament.”

Reacting to Ambati’s statement, Mohammad Azharuddin has finally opened up about the issue. Azharuddin just said that he is a frustrated cricketer.

However, Azharuddin’s statement didn’t go down well with Ambati Rayudu, who has now took to twitter and asked the HCA chief to not make the things personal. Ambati went on to advise Azharuddin to keep himself away from crooks and that if he does his job correctly and cleans up the HCA, he will be saving generations of Hyderabad cricketers.
