Chennai Super Kings‘ disappointing show in the 2022 season of the Indian Premier League took everyone by surprise as they won the IPL title in 2021. The MS Dhoni led side finished 9th in IPL 2022, winning just four games and losing as many as 10 games.

Ahead of that season had announced that he would hand over the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja. However, Jadeja had a disastrous time as captain winning just two out of the 8 games before Dhoni took over the captaincy duties again. MS Dhoni relinquishing the position to Jadeja before taking over the captaincy again mid-season had given rise to several rumors of a rift between the two legends.

Ravindra Jadeja had even unfollowed CSK on Twitter which led to an absolute meltdown from the fans. There were speculations that he might even part ways with the franchise but thankfully things went to being normal between the franchise and the cricketer again.

Ambati Rayudu Rubbished All The Rift Rumors Between MS Dhoni And Ravindra Jadeja

However, in his latest interview with Behindwoods TV, CSK’s batter Ambati Rayudu has rubbished all the rumors and clarified that there was nothing as such between the two cricketers. He said:

“I don’t think Jaddu was upset with Mahi bhai at all. It was just that he was sad because the team wasn’t doing great. Everyone’s performances that year were not coming up to the mark,” said Rayudu.

Further, Rayudu said that Jadeja was perhaps feeling the pressure as captain as the players didn’t perform up to the expectations in that season. He said:

“He took a break because he wanted a mental break from what was happening. There was no misunderstanding, it was just gossip in the media,”

It has to be noted that Chennai Super Kings made a blockbuster comeback in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. as they lifted their fifth IPL trophy beating Gujarat Titans in the final. Rayudu played a timely cameo of 19 off 8 balls with Jadeja hitting the winning runs in the final clash against the Hardik Pandya-led side.
