WTC Final: Fans were left disappointed as the Indian cricket team faced yet another heartbreak in the final of the World Test Championship – this time against Australia – as the Rohit Sharma-led team suffered a 209-run defeat at The Oval.

Team India Suffered A Defeat Against Australia

The Indian team was outblown by Aussies right from day one and the Men in Blue kept struggling to chase the total throughout the contest. Aussies made a whopping 469 in the first innings and India got wrapped up for 270. The Aussies then amassed 270/8 d in the second innings and asked India to chase the record total. In the last innings, none of the Indian batters could get past the fifty-run mark as Kohli topped the scoring sheets with 49.

The Australian cricket team etched its name in the history books by defeating the Indian cricket team in the summit clash at The Oval.

This was Australia’s first attempt at the WTC Final and they have won their maiden title. With this, Australia has become the first team in cricket history to win all ICC titles (ODI and T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, and WTC Final).

With this, team India’s wait for the ICC title continues. It was in the year 2013 when the Indian cricket team last won an ICC trophy under the leadership of MS Dhoni, ever since then, the Indian cricket team has been struggling to get their hands on an ICC trophy.

An Emotional Cricket Fan Remembered MS Dhoni

Meanwhile, social media has been buzzing with reactions from fans. There were many who started remembering the legacy of the former Indian captain MS Dhoni, under whose leadership team India won many major tournaments and trophies.

“Take me back to the time where we used to win ICC tournaments, take me back to the time where our team used to put hundred percent effort to win every game, take me back to the time where expectations used to come true, take me back to the time where MSD used to be our captain💔.”
