An Open Letter To KL Rahul During His Tough Phase

How many Indian batsmen have scored at least one century in all three formats?

Answer- 03

An Open Letter To KL Rahul During His Tough Phase

Lokesh Rahul, popularly known as KL has achieved this rare feat when he scored his maiden twenty20 century against West Indies in the United States of America.

“The Karnataka based top-order batsman is the only Indian batsman to score a century on debut. “

“He is also the first Karnataka batsman to score a triple century.”

“First batsman to score a hundred in T20’s batting at No.04 or lower positions.”

Even after holding such magnificent records, Rahul has shared a very unpredictable relation with the Indian dressing room due to the availability of tough competition at the top and also had to miss the Australian and New Zealand series owing to controversy in a talk show.

Even after so many judgments, this Kings XI Punjab opener never seems to give up. He realizes his mistakes and moves on.

Who forgets the formidable batsman’s 101 off 54 balls against a strong English attack during India’s tour of England.

“KL Rahul has a lot of potentials but he should score big runs. A 100 was there for the taking (against Pakistan) yet he chucked his wicket away. He played some stupid shots which I would not recommend to anyone,” Vengasker said after India versus Pakistan World Cup tie. The Indian great acknowledged the opener’s authority and flamboyance as a batsman. He called him a match-winner too.

This batsman who shares his name with the Indian veteran Rahul Dravid, has had his share of lows throughout his career. The only quality that helped him fight was his ‘never give up attitude.’ Now that he makes into the Indian limited-overs squad against the mighty Windies, we expect a grand show from the versatile batsman.

He just needs to remind himself of his greatness and continue marching like a soldier, playing every ball to its merit.

Once KL finds his touch, this series seems to be sealed but the current requirement is a certain amount of practice for this batsman who is also a very bright prospect for the upcoming twenty20 World Cup.
