Anand Mahindra Wants To Replace King With A New Word For Virat Kohli
Few cricketers have garnered as much attention as Virat Kohli. Because of his incredible performances, he is now known as “King Kohli.” But Anand Mahindra, the famous Indian business mogul and head of the Mahindra Group, thinks Kohli should be given a title higher than that of a king. Mahindra just tweeted an interesting idea, “Doctor Kohli.”
The magnificent century against one of Virat Kohli‘s favourite opponents was accompanied by its fair share of astounding records, much like some of his earlier innings. India’s Asia Cup Super Four match against Pakistan was halted by rain, but Virat Kohli smashed 72 runs off of his last 39 balls to go from 50 off 55 balls to an unbeaten 122 in 94 balls. Kohli and KL Rahul dominated the Pakistani bowling attack with the bat, and Kohli was in excellent form. Virat Kohli faced Faheem in the last over of the innings and casually smashed him for six over long on.

That final six off the last ball against Pakistan was a surgical strike,” was how Anand Mahindra summed it up on Twitter. He tweeted: “That last six off the last ball against Pakistan was a SurgicalStrike. Nothing less. Minimum fuss & movement, effortless. Clinical. He may be known as King Kohli but he deserves a medical degree. Doctor Kohli….”
This begs the question: Why “Doctor Kohli”? This is a tribute not just to his cricketing skills, but also to his systematic approach, keen insight into his team’s demands, and pinpoint accuracy while hitting the ball. Each run he scores seems to be a deliberate blow to the hopes of the opposition.
The rise of Virat Kohli from a promising young player to one of the game’s most formidable forces has been nothing short of remarkable. His dogged dedication to improving as a batter and as a skipper has led to unprecedented levels of success.
When talking about Virat Kohli, it is impossible to avoid mentioning his incredible statistics. His many hundreds have rewritten cricketing history. His 52-ball century in one-day internationals is the quickest ever scored by an Indian. Proof of his dedication to excellence is his constancy across all game types.

Anand Mahindra’s suggestion of “Doctor Kohli” as Kohli’s nickname is more than simply a clever play on words; it’s also a befitting compliment to a player whose on-field exploits are carried out with the precision of a surgeon. The meteoric rise of Virat Kohli, from a talented child to a cricketing icon, has been a sight to see. His achievements, direction, and dedication to cricket have made him legendary.
