Andre Russell is one of the most hard-hitting batsmen in the world. In fact, many of you would say that he is the hardest hitter of the cricket ball in the world. Recently, Andre Russell interacted with his fans through Kolkata Knight Riders’ social media account and spoke candidly on many issues.

During his interaction with the fans, Andre Russell, who is one of the most valued players in the Indian Premier League (IPL), revealed a very interesting moment from last year’s IPL.

Russell said when Dinesh Karthik got out during a match between KRK and RCB in IPL 2019, Virat Kohli turned towards the KKR balcony and shouted something like “come on”. And this triggered the big all-rounder.

“He (Dinesh Karthik) hit the ball, and he got caught (by Yuzvendra Chahal at midwicket). (RCB captain) Virat Kohli turned towards the stands where all the wives and KKR supporters were sitting, and he shouted something like ‘Come on!’”

“When Shubman Gill walked out (at No.7), I said ‘hey listen, I’m gonna take down anybody that bowls. Anyone that comes on, I’m going to take them down tonight, so just try and give me as much strike as possible. He said– ‘anything you say a big man’,” revealed Russell.

Andre Russell also told that he was focused on winning the match he didn’t even look at the scoreboard while hitting those massive sixes. In that match, Andre Russell smashed 48 off just 13 deliveries, including 1 four and 6 gigantic sixes.

“Every time I hit a six, I wasn’t even looking at the scoreboard, because sometimes you can get carried away with the crowd and everything. After I hit the ball, I would walk up to Shubman, we do a glove-punch, and I would go back to my crease and take as deep a breath as possible. That allows me to be calm,” he added.
