Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling after his gesture during a match in The Hundred stirred a controversy.

Well, during the match, Marcus top-scored with 37 off 27 balls for the Brave on Sunday evening and was dismissed by Hasnain. While walking back to the pavilion, Stoinis mimicked a throw which looked to be suggesting that he was taking a jibe at Hasnain’s bowling action.

Stoinis seemed to have accused Pakistan’s Mohammad Hasnain of chucking while bowling to him. The Australian had tried to report the matter on the field and his attempt to do so hasn’t gone down well with several experts and cricketers.

The video of the same has gone viral on the internet and the Australian is getting trolled left, right and center. Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar also took to his social media and slammed Stoinis for his gesture. He also slammed the ICC for keeping silent on this matter. He wroteL

“Shameful gesture by @MStoinis regarding bowling action of @MHasnainPak during #TheHundred2022 . How dare you do such things?? Ofcourse @ICC stays quiet about them. No player should be allowed to do such things if someone’s been cleared already.”

It has to be noted that earlier this year, Hasnain was found guilty of having an illegal bowling action and was suspended from bowling. His action was reported by an umpire during a BBL match between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers on January 2.  However, in June, he was cleared to bowl again after his remodeled action.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Marcus will face disciplinary action or not for his gesture after falling for Hasnain.
