Ajaz Patel became only third cricketer to take all 10 wickets in an innings, after Jim Laker and Indian legend Anil Kumble. Patel, who was born in Mumbai, completed the full circle when he took all 10 wickets in India’s first innings and etched his name in the history books at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

Ajaz Patel bowled like a champion throughout the Indian innings and caused problems for every Indian batter on a good wicket at the Wankhede Stadium. Ajaz started with Shubman Gills wicket and dismissed India’s fast bowler Mohammed Siraj to complete an unbelievable 10-wicket haul on Day 2 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.

When Patel took 7 wickets, there was massive excitement and anxiety in the air as people started thinking “Can he take 10 wickets?”

But he did it. Ajaz Patel bowled 47.5 overs in the innings, including 12 maidens and conceding 119 runs. And took all 10 wickets.

Patel’s stunning achievement has made him a hero among cricket fans across the world and what he has achieved will be talked about for generations to come. Former Indian captain Anil Kumble, who’s the second cricketer ever to take 10 wickets an innings, posted a special message for Ajaz Patel and welcome him to the elite club of cricketers who have taken 10 wickets in an innings.
