It’s not just the comeback of Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals that would be new in the upcoming edition of the IPL. There’s something else too that would be new in the upcoming season of the gala cricket league of India. The BCCI has decided to change the timings of the IPL matches too.

Another New Twist In The IPL, Another Change In The List Of Changes

Over years of IPL’s journey the day matches have always started at 4PM while the night matches have commenced at 8 PM but it seems like the BCCI is all set to give a new look to the timings of the IPL matches. The hype about IPL 2018 is already high and there are speculations being made almost everyday about the retention policy of players and the Right To Match.

Now there’s another interesting development that has come up and this time it’s about the timing of the starting of the night matches. When will the matches start now? As said above, the night matches have always started at 8 PM but now the BCCI has proposed that the matches rather start at 7PM.

Another New Twist In The IPL, Another Change In The List Of Changes

The reason being cited for this change is the fact that the matches starting at 8 PM end quite late hence causing inconvenience to players as well viewers. Traveling too is concern when matches end late is what the board said.

Rajiv Shukla, the Chairman of the IPL said that this change was proposed and was liked by many. But he also stated that before bringing this to effect the broadcasters’ consent too is required. The changes would only be possible if the broadcasters agree.

This is indeed a good move to be practically speaking because this gives greater convenience to everyone including those watching their favourite teams over television. Let’s see if this actually gets implemented and if it does everyone of course would be happy about it.
