VIDEO: Arjun Tendulkar Got Emotional After Hugging Rohit Sharma Ahead Of His IPL Debut

It was in 2013 when Rohit Sharma received his debut cap for Mumbai Indians from the hands of none other than the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar. A decade later, life has come to full circle, as Rohit handed Sachin’s son Arjun Tendulkar his debut cap for Mumbai Indians.

After a long wait of more than 2 years, Arjun finally made his IPL debut in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday in front of his father, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, and his family.

Arjun was roped in by Mumbai Indians in the auction before the 2021 edition of the IPL, for a base price of INR 20 lakhs. A year later, in the IPL 2022 mega-auction, Arjun had attracted Gujarat Titans too having raised the paddle before he eventually return to MI for a price of INR 30 lakhs. However, despite his presence in the squad for two seasons, he wasn’t handed his debut cap until on Sunday, April 16 of 2023.

Meanwhile, as Arjun received his debut cap from captain Rohit Sharma he couldn’t stop his tears. In the video, shared by the official Twitter handle of the Indian Premier League, an emotional Arjun was seen hugging Rohit Sharma as he received his debut cap from the regular captain.

Though, Arjun received his cap from captain Rohit but he isn’t playing today’s game against KKR as he is down with a ‘stomach bug’. Ahead of the toss, Arjun was seen having an intense conversation with his father Sachin Tendulkar. Later, MI captain Rohit Sharma, also joined the conversation with Sachin with the duo trying to motivate Arjun ahead of his debut.
