India is all set to host the Kiwis as the One Day International series against Williamson’s men starts on the 22nd October. After celebrating the auspicious festival of Diwali with their adorable families, men in blue came back to the call of duty. Team India was seen practicing in the nets at the Wankhede, Mumbai and guess who came to join them?
It was no other than the little master blaster, Arjun Tendulkar who joined Kohli’s men at their practice session in Wankhede. Arjun was seen bowling to Virat Kohli and other Indian batsmen in the pictures posted by the official social media handles of the BCCI. As men in blue went sweating it all out at the grinding practice session being scrutinised by coach Ravi Shastri, Arjun too went all guns blazing.
Arjun is growing well as a cricketer and he also hit headlines recently in July when he was seen bowling to the Indian Women’s team at the nets ahead of the final of the Women’s World Cup against England which India unfortunately lost by 9 runs.
This isn’t just the only time he made news before this. The left armed pacer also made news when according to a report published in the Daily Mail the English Batsman, Jonny Bairstow was left clueless by a perfect Yorker from Arjun Tendulkar during a practice session at the Lord’s, the Mecca of cricket. Jonny Bairstow was hit so hard by Arjun’s Yorker that the batsman had to keep his foot in a compression unit to seek some relief! Ouch! That must have been really painful.
The way Arjun is growing as a cricketer makes it pretty evident that he too would soon don the blue jersey of team India but he must keep the hardwork up! He was recently selected to represent Mumbai at the under 19 invitational one day tournament named after Late Shri J Y Lele. We wish the budding cricketer all the luck and we would be eager to see him play for India one day.
