There have been a lot of speculations on the fitness of Ravichandran Ashwin ahead of the much important game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) tonight, but it seems the off spinner is fit for the game as he shared a video on Instagram where he can be seen doing light work-out in the gym.

Ashwin might have bowled only one over in Delhi Capitals’ first game against Kings XI Punjab, but that one itself changed the complexion of the game as he got two crucial breakthroughs in that over before injuring himself while trying to field the ball in his follow-through.
It appeared a very serious injury to start with as Ashwin’s shoulder seemed to have popped out and he was in a lot of pain. The grimace on his face suggested it was a severe case of shoulder dislocation.

However, the pain subsided after a while and the scans showed there was no fracture at all. Ashwin was back in the dressing room and seemed to be comfortable by the time the game ended. The DC skipper Shreyas Iyer also said after the game that the off spinner told him he would be ready for the next fixture.
Ashwin’s role will be key in the game against CSK as CSK has got a couple of left-handers in the middle order whom they use as enforcers with the bat and if Ashwin manages to put brakes on them, that might disrupt CSK’s plans.
But, CSK will probably go with a conventional game-plan in this game because of Ashwin’s threat and will probably use the right-handers in top 6 rather than promoting Sam Curran or Ravindra Jadeja.
The CSK skipper MS Dhoni might be seen batting up the order himself in tonight’s game against Delhi Capitals. CSK currently holds a 15-6 lead in the head to head battle against DC.
