Fans of Sanju Samson were thrilled after watching him bat in the fifth and the last T20I match of the 5-match T20I series between West Indies and India, however, they are now equally disheartened by the fact that he has been ignored for the much-awaited Asia Cup 2022.

On Monday, the BCCI announced India’s Asia Cup squad for 2022. The team will be led by Rohit Sharma and will see the return of main players — Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. however, the absence of Sanju Samson has started a heated debate on social media.

The Kerala cricketer was not the only prominent name to miss out on the Indian squad for Asia Cup 2022, but two other T20I regulars Ishan Kishan, and Shreyas Iyer also didn’t find a place in the 15-member squad announced for the marquee event starting on August 27 in UAE.

Fans Are Slamming BCCI For Ignoring Sanju Samson

It has to be noted that Samson has played three matches on the trot – in the recent ODI series against West Indies – only once in his career so far, ever since he made his international debut 7 years ago in 2015.

Needless to say, Samson’s omission did not go down well with his fans on social media, who are now slamming the Indian team management left, right, and center.
