AUS vs IND: Harbhajan Singh Slams KL Rahul’s Approach

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has given his thoughts on KL Rahul’s batting performance during the first innings of the opening Test between India and Australia in Nagpur. As a seasoned cricketer and expert in the sport, Harbhajan’s opinions carry a lot of weight and his critique highlights the key areas that Rahul needs to improve upon.

Rahul, who opened the batting along with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, started off well and was part of a solid opening partnership. However, he threw his wicket away after playing a lazy shot at the end of the first day, scoring 20 runs off 71 deliveries with just one boundary. Harbhajan feels that Rahul could have done better if he had shown more intent and taken a more aggressive approach at the crease. He believes that this would have boosted Rahul’s confidence, who has been struggling with his form lately.

“KL Rahul would be disappointed as he was taking more time. I believe if he could have kept an attacking approach then he could have scored more. I hope in the second innings if he gets the chance to bat, he will score some runs for his own confidence,” Harbhajan said on his official YouTube channel.

Harbhajan also gave his thoughts on India’s innings as a whole and his expectations for the game. He feels that India should aim for a score of 300-350 runs in the first innings, which would put pressure on the Australian side and make it difficult for them to reach even the 200-run mark in the second innings. The former cricketer credited the quality of India’s spin attack, led by the experienced Ravichandran Ashwin, as being a key factor in this prediction.

“I am hoping that India scores 300-350 on this pitch. Captain Rohit Sharma started a great inning (and) is not out with more than 50 runs. If India scores anywhere near 350 then I doubt Australia will be able to score more than 200 in the second innings. The more you bowl on this pitch, the more it will spin. If it spins then Australia will surrender against India’s three spinners,” he said.

In conclusion, Harbhajan Singh’s analysis and critique of KL Rahul‘s batting approach, as well as his expectations for India’s innings, demonstrate his vast knowledge of the sport and show why he is regarded as one of India’s greatest cricketers of all time.
