Axar Patel Played A Match-Winning Knock And Fans Can’t Keep Calm

Take a bow, Axar Patel. He was the one who stole the game away from the West Indies to help the Indian cricket team win the second ODI of the 3-match series against West Indies by two wickets here at Queens Park Oval stadium in Port of Spain on Sunday. The Indian side has now taken a winning 2-0 lead in the ongoing series.

The West Indies players were brilliant till the 40th over, however, it was the last 10 overs when they started to lose control over the game. Before that, the likes of Alzarri Joseph, Kyle Mayers, and Jayden Seales were excellent as they managed to restrict the Indian batters, however, in the last 10, it just didn’t go as per their plan.

Talking about India’s batting, the Indian side was struggling at 79/3 at one time, but a 99-run stand between Iyer (63) and Samson (54) brought much-needed momentum to the innings. In the end contributions from Deepak Hooda (33) and Axar Patel (64*) proved to be match-winning.

The Indian side needed 114 runs from 74 balls when Axar Patel walked in to bat. He smashed an unbeaten knock of 64 runs from 35 balls and stole the show with his batting heroics. Axar Patel stood up for the side when other batters failed to close the game. Patel reached his maiden ODI half-century in 27 balls and took the game away from West Indies in the slog overs.

Patel smashed the Windies to all the corners of the ground. India needed d 8 runs off the last over and the southpaw connected a six on the fourth ball to seal the game for India with two balls to spare. Patel’s sensational knock was laced with five sixes and three fours.
