After another blockbuster show by Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam in the 3rd and final ODI match against South Africa, Babar is all set to dethrone Indian skipper Virat Kohli from the number 1 batsman position in the ICC rankings.

In the series decider, Babar Azam played a stunning knock and scored 94 runs from 82 balls. He formed a great partnership with Fakhar Zaman and together they helped their team to pile the score of 320/7 in 50 overs.

Babar Azam has been in some tremendous form right now and has been enjoying his outing in South Africa. He has scored 4 centuries in the last 10 ODIs. Recently, he scored a match-winning century in the series opener. Before the series kickstarted, the Pakistan skipper was only 5 points behind Virat Kohli in the rankings and now with the stunning knock of 92 runs, Babar officially takes the top spot in the ODI batsman podium.

Meanwhile, team India is not scheduled to play the 50-over format game anytime soon, so it will leave Babar as the number 1 batsman for quite a long time. Also, the fans are desperately waiting for King Kohli to score a century. It was in 2019 when Kohli smashed his last ton and the cricket fraternity and fans are waiting desperately for his century.

Not just this, on Friday, Babar added another feather to his already illustrious cap. He became the fastest men’s cricketer to score 13 centuries in the ODI format of the game. He surpassed former Proteas player Hashim Amla and Indian skipper Virat Kohli to achieve this milestone.
