The India-New Zealand One Day International (ODI) encounter was a good one despite the loss to the Indian team. There were some moments that stood out, right from Kohli’s counter-attacking century to the middle order master class from Taylor and Latham.

However, one moment that absolutely got the crowd wild was when a ballboy took a superb one-handed catch as the ball sailed over the ropes of fine leg from Virat Kohli.

Brilliant handling:

During the 25th over, a short ball from Adam Milne was despatched by Kohli towards the fine leg boundary. The fielder, Colin Munro tried his best but the ball was hit just perfectly to get it over the fence.

The ball boy, sprung up as soon as the ball was hit and anticipated that the ball would come towards him. As Munro jumped to make an effort, he missed the ball but it was caught perfectly in one hand by the ball boy behind.

The Wankhede crowd went berserk on seeing this and even roared wildly as replays of the catch and the boy were shown on the screen. He sheepishly smiled and gave a thumbs up as the commentators were praising him in the box.

It was also revealed that he was an Under-14 player of the Mumbai Cricket Association as it was engraved on the official cap that he was wearing.

New Zealand gave a brilliant all-round performance and started the series in the most emphatic manner. Trent Boult gave a stellar performance and din’t allow Indian batsmen to put pressure on the New Zealand bowling attack, by picking wickets at regular intervals throughout the course of the innings.

In the batting department, Ross Taylor and Tom Latham formed a match winning partnership and made Indian bowlers, specially spinners, ordinary at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
