BAN vs IND: Jamie Alter Trolled Brad Hogg With A Hilarious Tweet

After the completion of the 3-match ODI series, the Indian cricket team is now locking horns against Bangladesh in the ongoing 1st Test match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. During the game, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg, who was doing the commentary duties, referred to Bangladesh’s bowler Taijul Islam as “Taj Mahal” and was trolled badly for the same.

Popular sports journalist and author Jamie Alter took to his social media and took a hilarious dig at the former cricketer for his statement. He wrote: “Brad Hogg just referred to Taijul Islam as ‘Taj Mahal’. Back to mute. As cricket should be watched. #BANvsIND”

Meanwhile, talking about Taijul Islam, the 30-year-old bowler was sensational with the ball as he struck twice in the eventful opening session in the ongoing first Test match between India and Bangladesh. Taijul struck twice to provide his side with a solid start on the first morning of the Chattogram Test.

Taijul Islam Was Sensational With The Ball

As the game kickstarted, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill got off to a brilliant start by smashing the pacers to some stunning boundaries. The Bangladesh side rang in a handful of early changes until Taijul began with a maiden – the first in eight overs since the morning. The runs soon started to dry up with Bangladesh rectifying their mistakes and bowling more tightly.

And soon Bangladesh managed to get wickets. Gill fell attempting a premeditated paddle sweep against Taijul. Gill was visibly upset with himself for throwing away a good start. Similarly, KL Rahul was also frustrated with himself after dragging an inside edge onto his stumps off Khaled Ahmed, who lured him with some width.

Taijul Ahmed then struck again and this time he got the big fish — Virat Kohli. Taijul trapped him plumb in frntVirat Kohli went on to the back foot to play the delivery, however, the ball spun sharply suddenly from the middle of the pitch and struck him on the back pad. Shocked by the delivery, Virat decided to go for the review only to see three red dots, which confirmed his dismissal.

Later, India vice-captain Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer scripted India’s recovery as the tourists posted 278 for 6 on an opening day. Pujara stitched a 149-run stand for the fifth wicket with Iyer to help India overcome the collapse in the first session when they lost 3 quick wickets. Pujara looked all set for his 19th Test hundred before getting dismissed by a ripper from Taijul Islam in the final session of the day.
