Bangladesh vs India: players to watch-out for

While the upcoming 3 match ODI series has been negitively received both by fans and critics, it should be viewed the other way round. The teams which play out are filled with youngsters, even some of them are being selected for the first time, and could indeed be the look of the team some years down the line.

Robin Uthappa : Indeed he has become a hot property since his incredible IPL season, which involved aa streak of 40+ scores. Now he has been duly rewarded with a place in the Indian team, though in a lesser significant tour of Bangladesh. But this might be the perfect chance for him to make an impact at the top. Being an opener, he might be the consistent right-hander India needs at the top, especially in bowler friendly conditions. A good performance here might land him a ticket for the ODI series in England, where he has come good memories.

Akshar Patel : This all rounder impressed one and all with his accurate bowling for KXIP, and is quite useful with the bat too. Being in the same mould as Ravindra Jadeja, he could be picked up as an allrounder, depending on what the situation demands. Though it is quite unlikely that he might get to be in the playing 11 consistently in the coming year or two, this will be a huge experience for him and will indeed help him to progress in a positive manner.

Mithun Ali : Though it is quite expected that none of us might actually know him, but here is what the BCB selection committee chairman has to say about him

“Mithun has been under our radar for a while. He has performed consistently in the limited overs format and in the longer version as well during the last couple of years and deserves a chance at the international level. Taskin is an exciting prospect and has already played a Twenty20 international. We thought it was a good opportunity to see how he performs in the 50 overs game in home conditions against some quality batsmen.”

Lets us wait and watch whether this prospective talent makes an impact against the inexperienced yet talented Indian batting line up.

Al Amin Hossain : This youngster has an impressive domestic record. Though he has failed to shine at the international level as far as the longest format is concerned, he will look to cement his place in the side with a strong showing in this tournament.

Though both the teams have many new players at their ranks, it will be interesting whether the above mentioned players perform or not. Lets wait and watch how the 3-match series turns out to be.
