Sledging is a very much part of cricket and is acceptable only when it is practiced within the boundaries. The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is regarded as the modern-day legend of cricket. Besides his impeccable game and great athletic skills, Virat Kohli is known for his flamboyant attitude on and off the field. Over these years, we have seen the Indian skipper sledging his opponents and indulging in hilarious banters on the field.
As per Bangladesh bowler Al Amin Hossain, Virat Kohli sledges the bowler if he fails to score runs off him unlike other batting legends like Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers.
Well, recently, during a Facebook live interaction of Bangladesh-based Cricfrenzy, Al Amin Hossain, revealed that Virat Kohli sledges the bowler every time he is bowled a dot ball. As per him, Virat tries to create pressure on the bowler by sledging him. Hossain said:
“Virat Kohli will sledge you every time you bowl a dot ball to him. He uses slang words, which I cannot say in front of an audience. He tries to create pressure on the bowler, mentally disturb him.”
He further revealed how Virat isn’t like Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma or Chris Gayle as he sledges the bowler in return. He said:
“I have bowled to Chris Gayle, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, the other great batsmen in the world. None of them are like this. They defend when you bowl a good ball, they don’t say anything. Kohli is not like that, he will sledge you in return,”
He added:
“He used to do a lot of sledging then. Maybe he does it a little less for the national team. We all know how abusive he was in the U-19 days,”
During the interaction, Hossain also revealed the toughest situation he has faced in his career. He revealed:
“That was the toughest situation I remember. Kohli and Dhoni were batting. It was difficult to do what I wanted to do against them,”
