for the Asia Cup 2023 have started arriving in Bangalore where they will undergo a six-day training and conditioning camp, which will commence on Thursday at the Karnataka State Cricket Association’s (KSCA) Three Ovals campus in Alur.
The BCCI has told the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to take extra care of the fitness of the players in the lead-up to the World Cup 2023 and avoid any more injuries, especially to players like captain Rohit Sharma, and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah who have been injury-prone.
The NCA, in alliance with their physiotherapists, doctors, and trainers has prepared a strict regime of diet, and exercise to keep the Indian players fit, both physically and mentally as the Men In Blue prepares for the home World Cup.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli told to take yoga lessons, get 9 hours of sleep regularly

The Indian players who returned earlier from the West Indies – such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja – all of whom were not part of the T20I series in West Indies or in Ireland – along with the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami – and who will fly for the Asia Cup have been given a 13-day fitness program that they completed before arriving at the NCA.
This fitness regime was followed by the players from August 9 to 22; it was made with the intention of keeping the players at the best of their physical and mental fitness, and to avoid any further injuries. The NCA physios and trainers had also designed specific plans and routines for each player based on different parameters and strengths of different parts of their bodies.
According to The Indian Express, every player was given a specific training and eating program that they had to follow strictly.
The two senior-most players in the team, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, were also asked to take yoga sessions and get 8-9 hours of sleep, which would help them get more relaxed.
15 of the 18 Asia Cup-bound players have arrived in Bangalore, while the three who have not – Bumrah, Prasidh, and Samson – are in Ireland and will reach Bangalore on Thursday before flying out for Sri Lanka next week.
