Gautam Gambhir Team India’s Head Coach: India went on to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 undefeated. They became the first side to win the T20 World Cup without losing any game. After the T20 World Cup, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20I cricket. The final was the last game for Rahul Dravid as the head coach of Team India. BCCI are already finalising who will be the next head coach of Team India.
As per reports, former India opener, Gautam Gambhir is set to become the new head coach of the Indian Cricket Team. Gambhir served as the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2024 and led them to the championship. He has been a man of big moments during his playing career. Gambhir has played match winning knocks in the final of the T20 World Cup in 2007 and also during the final of the ODI World Cup in 2011. Moreover, he has led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles as a captain.
So, Gambhir as the head coach of Team India will be a blessing. He knows how to get the performance from his team on big moments and India can dream of more ICC titles, after he takes over as the Head Coach of the team. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Gauti has already shot his farewell video with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
BCCI are also looking for a batting and a bowling coach. However, Express Sports reports that the BCCI has given a free hand to Gautam Gambhir to select his own coach staff. The same report states that BCCI might not appoint a separate batting coach as Gautam Gambhir himself has been a successful opener for the Indian Cricket Team. We have to now wait and see what happens finally in this regard.
