The second season of the Legends League Cricket will be held in India, moving from Oman where the first edition of the tournament was held last year. The second season is scheduled to take place in September 2022.

About 10 days ago, Sourav Ganguly himself had refuted the reports of his participation in the tournament. “I am not a part of any Legends League. The news is not true,” Ganguly had told PTI in the wake of the reports. But now has made a U-turn and announced his participation in the LLC Season 2.

Ganguly’s last professional appearance as a player was way back in 2015 when he featured in a couple of games in the Cricket All-Stars Series, held in Los Angeles, between Sachin’s Blasters and Warner’s Warriors turning up for his former teammate Sachin Tendulkar’s team.

A number of ex-cricketers have so far confirmed their availability for the second edition of the Legends League Cricket – including Virender Sehwag, Shane Watson, Eoin Morgan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Muttiah Muralitharan, Mashrafe Mortaza, Dale Steyn, Ross Taylor, Jacques Kallis, Matt Prior, Romesh Kaluwitharana and Monty Panesar.

Players from different countries have been divided into three teams – India, Asia and Rest of the World.
