BCCI Reveal Full Extent Of Rishabh Pant’s Injuries

Indian keeper-batter Rishabh Pant suffered a horrific car accident early on Friday morning and is currently admitted to a hospital in Dehradun. He met with an accident around 5:30 am on Friday morning after his Mercedes collided with a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. 

The vehicle caught fire and Rishabh Pant had to break the windshield to escape the crash. Pant sustained injuries after his car collided with a divider and caught fire while he was traveling to his hometown in Uttrakhand from Delhi. After being initially admitted to a private hospital in Roorkee, Pant has been transferred to a Dehradun hospital. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally issued a statement and revealed the full extent of the injuries to Rishabh Pant. The BCCI has stated that Pant has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee, and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. The BCCI also clarified that Pant’s condition is stable now and he will soon undergo an MRI to formulate a further course of treatment on the Indian cricketer’s road to recovery.

The full statement issued by the BCCI read:

“India wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant met with a car accident early on Friday morning near Roorkee, Uttarakhand. He was admitted to Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre where he was treated for impact injuries.

Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment.

The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase.”

Meanwhile, talking to the media, Medical Superintendent at Max Hospital, Dehradun, Dr. Ashish Yagnik gave an update about Rishabh Pant’s health. He revealed that in the first x-ray they didn’t find any serious injuries on the cricketer and he is now stable. He said: “He is under evaluation and a team of doctors is attending to him. Only after some tests can we tell more. As of now, he is stable and there is not much to worry about,” 

He added: “A team of doctors is talking to him and based on what he is telling us about the injuries, he is getting evaluated. Prima facie, we did not find any serious injuries. Orthopaedic and plastic surgeons are attending him,”
