England’s batsman Ben Duckett was at the receiving end of Indian cricket fans on Twitter after posted a confusing tweet on Ravichandran Ashwin’s upcoming county stint.

Earlier this week, it was confirmed by Worcestershire club on their Twitter handle that Ravichandran Ashwin will join the team for a county stint and also released a welcome note for the ace Indian off-spinner.

Ben Duckett quoted that tweet and wrote Northamptonshire has played their two games against Worcestershire. Now, Indian cricket fans being Indian cricket fans quickly lashed onto Ben Duckett assuming that he is taking an indirect dig at Ravichandran Ashwin.

In his short career so far, Duckett hasn’t achieved anything spectacular but there is strong belief among English cricket fans that he is a quietly batsman and can overcome these initial hurdles.

In 4 Tests  he has played scored 110 runs at an average of 15.71. Duckett has also featured in 3 ODIs where has scored 123 runs at an average of 41. Though, he has fared much better in the limited-overs format of the game.

This is what Ben Duckett tweeted:

And, this is how Indian cricket fans replied:

OUR TAKE: Ben Duckett’s tweet was taken out of context by most of the Indian cricket fans. He is a quality batsman who struggled in India against Ravichandran Ashwin. In our view, Ben Duckett wanted to face Ashwin because he is a quality bowler and he troubled Duckett during England’s India tour.
