Ben Stokes Is On Fire: Jonny Bairstow’s controversial run-out has surely raised tensions between England and Australia, reigniting the spirit of cricket debate all over again. The run-out was implemented by Australian keeper Alex Carey during the recently concluded second Test match of the Ashes 2023 at the iconic Lord’s.

The moment is still buzzing on social media, with several former cricketers from Australia and England taking shots at each other’s countries. The media outlets of the two countries have now added more to the drama. After Monday’s papers in the United Kingdom took a dig at the Australian team over the controversial Jonny Bairstow dismissal, the Australian media hit back with a ‘crybabies’ tag for the England team on Tuesday morning.

The British media had labeled the incident as ‘pathetic’ and claimed Cummins has killed ‘decorum’ and ‘codes of honor and decorum’. Irked by this, the Australian media didn’t hold back either. A popular publication printed images of Stokes and Brendon McCullum using pacifiers with the headline  ‘We’re 2 up, Baby!’.

In other news, ‘The West Australian’ used an edited photo of Stokes as an infant with a pacifier in nappies titled ‘Crybabies’. “Poms take whingeing to a new level with ‘cheating’ drivel” read another line from the paper.

Stokes Gave It Back In Style

The pictures of the newspaper headlines are going viral on the internet. Seeing one of the newspaper front pages go viral on social media, Ben Stokes couldn’t resist showing off his sense of humor.

Reacting to the post, Stokes wrote: “That’s definitely not me, since when did I bowl with the new ball”.

The controversial run-out:

For the unversed, when Jonny Bairstow was on 10, he ducked a bouncer from Cameron Green which went straight to Alex Carey. Bairstow, assuming that the ball is dead, started walking towards the middle of the pitch to have a chat with skipper Ben Stokes. However, Carey immediately grabbed the chance and threw the ball to the stumps, and appealed for a run-out. Third umpire Marais Erasmus immediately gave this out.
