Ben Stokes Wrote A Beautiful Tweet For Joe Root: The 4th day of the ongoing 1st test match between England and India turned out to be an intriguing one. England skipper Joe Root impressed one and all after he played a captain’s knock on Day 4 of the 1st Test match against Virat Kohli-led side.
As the day began, England resumed their game at 25/0, and runs started flowing soon. However, team India soon gained momentum as they sent Rory Burns and Zak Crawley back to the pavilion in the first half-hour itself. While many were thinking that the Virat Kohli-led side will soon wrap the game, England’s skipper Joe Root had some other plans.
Joe Root turned the tables as he played one of his best knocks. Root started scoring runs right from the word go. The moment Joe Root walked out to bat, he knew what was coming. He looked determined and confident from the first ball itself. Playing at a strike rate of 70, Joe played some excellent cover drives, backfoot punches, to wipe out the deficit in the first session itself.
While Root kept his calm, wickets kept falling on the other side. However, during his stunning knock, Root was once stuck for a long-time on 97 runs. Infact, India was too desperate to send him back to the pavilion that they wasted a review in an attempt to dismiss him. And soon, Root smashed a stunning straight off his bat to celebrate a majestic ton. Root was dismissed after scoring 109 runs off 172 balls, where he smashed 14 fours.
Meanwhile, fans on social media went berserk as they celebrated Root’s 21st ton in Tests. Wishes and appreciation poured in from all corners for the skipper. However, one of the best tweets came from his teammate and star all-rounder Ben Stokes.
Ben Stokes took to his Twitter and wrote a beautiful tweet for Joe Root after his sensational knock. He wrote:
