India has registered comprehensive wins in the first two ODIs and now they are the favourite claimants of the series. The team has looked good especially the bowling department. It’s almost as if the young duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal has left South African batsman struggling for answers.

As far as the batting department is concerned, Virat Kohli has carried his stellar form in the ODI series as well. In the very first ODI he scored a blistering century as India chased down the total of 270.
In the second match at The Centurion, it was Shikhar Dhawan who scored a brilliant 50 and remained unbeaten.
The lower middle order is yet to be exposed but the top order has looked in good touch sans Rohit Sharma.
Rohit’s form a cause of worry

He’s immensely talented and one of the greatest ODI players undoubtedly. But he has struggled in South Africa big time and has not been among runs ever since the test series.
Rohit Sharma in the ODI series has got our despite the fact that India was only chasing modest totals. Since the totals were modest his failure with the bat did not cost India the match.

In the second ODI particularly he had all the time in the world to score a half century and get going India was only chasing down 118 but he failed to scored again.35 runs in two ODIs is what he has managed in this series and that’s a cause of worry. If India was chasing big totals then this poor run of form would have been a big issue.
We would really like to see Rohit Sharma come back to form at Cape Town today. We feel that a big innings from his bat is just around the corner. He needs just one good innings to get going.
