Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant alongwith three other Indian cricketers have been placed under isolation after a video of them appeared on social media where they were seated in an indoor area in the diner.
Well, as per the protocols of Cricket Australia, cricketers can eat out at restaurants but they must be seated in an outdoor area.
According to a statement released by Cricket Australia on Saturday, the players including Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini have been separated from the Indian and Australian squads but will still train “in accordance with the strict protocols that have been put in place to ensure the ongoing safety of all members of the Indian and Australian squads.”
“The BCCI and CA are investigating the matter and seeking to determine whether the outing constitutes a breach of biosecurity protocols. In the interim, on the advice of the Australian and Indian medical teams, the aforementioned players have been placed in isolation as a precaution. This will include separating the group of players from the broader Indian and Australian squads when traveling and at the training venue.”
It all started after an Indian cricket fan named Navaldeep Singh spotted his favorite cricketers – Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, Navdeep Saini, and Shubman Gill, while he was at a restaurant at the same time. He was so overwhelmed and excited after spotting his favorite cricketers that he paid their bill worth AUD 118.69 (INR 6683).
He also narrated the brief interaction he had with the cricketers after they found out that their bill had been paid by the fan. The fan also claimed that Rishabh Pant had ‘hugged’ him.

But later in the day, the Indian fan took to his Twitter and posted a clarification that Pant never hugged him and cricketers maintained social distancing throughout. He also claimed that he wrote all that in excitement. He wrote:
“Clarification – Pant never hugged me it was all said in excitement we maintained social distance all thru:) Apologies for miscommunication @BCCI @CricketAus @dailytelegraph,”
